Post Yoga Red Velvet Smoothie

All you need is:

1 or 2 bananas depending on a size

1 glass of frozen or fresh red berries (I used raspberries)

1/2 raw small to medium size beetroot

1 glass of greens: spinach + kale

1 tbsp raw cacao powder

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp ground flaxseeds

1 tbsp pumpkin seeds

1 tbsp black sesame seeds

1 tsp of moringa powder

1/2 tsp of cinnamon

1 tsp turmeric

Small piece of ginger

Pinch of black pepper

Kombucha (optional)

Filtered water (or mineral, strictly not tap)

Here’s what you do:

It's super simple, just put all ingredients to high speed blender and blend until smooth. Prior blending you can remove hard kale stalks and cut ginger to smaller pieces or hand-grind it as it's hard to bend. Next, just pour your velvety smoothie to a glass or your favourite mug and enjoy after yoga, pilates or any other workout.

I would like to highlight few most powerful ingredients, which makes up this awesome smoothie.

First of all - seeds. Not only they are great plant based source of protein and healthy fat, chia, hemp and flax seeds are super rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which are great for your joints and they are highly anti-inflammatory. Hemp and pumpkin seeds helps to enhance magnesium level, which is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in your body, including maintenance of normal nerve and muscle function, support of a healthy immune system, keeping the heart beat steady and helping bones remain strong.

Turmeric is another great ingredient, natures most powerful anti-inflammatory remedy, known and used since ancient time. Together with ginger it works just amazing to reduce any inflammation in your body.

Beetroot not only gives this smoothie red velvety colour, it is scientifically proven to enhance endurance, muscle recovery and overall athletic performance, because of it's ability to increases blood flow and oxygen delivery to the cells.

Bananas and cacao powder, besides providing great taste, help to restore electrolyte potassium lost through sweating.

Finally greens, loads of it. Greens and especially crusiferous greens (like kale) contain several powerful nutrients (anti-axidents, alpha-linolenic acid, GLA), which enhances the anti-inflammatory effect of omega-3 fatty acids. As well as most of them are packed with magnesium, which is responsible for energy production and prevents from crumping. Raw cacao helps to enhance magnesium level as well.

Other awesome ingredients are also great to deliver other additional vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, good gut bacteria for overall amazingly functioning body in one synchronised symphony and very importantly great taste of the smoothie.
